MADE IN LAGOS

if my spotify 2020, wrapped results is anything to by, i don’t listen to that many artists. i have my handful of favourites and stick to them like glue, wizkid being one of them.

my new years was pretty uneventful as i spent it mostly in bed with my laptop not too far out of reach. however, the thing that set the tone for the rest of the day though was watching the last #JuliesTop5 video of 2020 which was about wizkid’s made in lagos album and my god did i laugh. if you’ve not watched this video yet, please do. even if you’re not a wizkid fan i doubt you’ll regret hitting play.

i’ve still not listened to the whole album yet but i keep on finding new songs on the album that i LOVE and now know i’d have been a shit panelist on this show as i’d have struggled to settle on only 5 songs. plus i’d have probably laughed non-stop at everyone’s reasons for why certain songs should be on the list, especially tom’s. but i will say the songs that i have on repeat at the moment are ginger (obvs), mighty wine, true love (come on), essence and blessed.

i know some of you may not have spent 1 jan 2021 as you normally do but i hope still had a good time nonetheless. if you didn’t, maybe music can work it’s magic in your life as much as it can until you feel better.
