Soulful Sunday: Turning the Ugly Into Something Beautiful

[source of pic]

We all have those seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and even years when we feel depressed about not being good enough; not being smart enough; not being rich enough; not being tall/short enough; not being slim/fat enough; not being sexy/hot/beautiful enough; not being confident/strong/bold enough; not being kind, loving and faithful enough...

The list is endless.

But what I want us to do today is turn those negatives that make us feel like we or our life is ugly into something positive. This will allow us to truly appreciate just how beautiful we are and how bright our life can be.

You might ask- How can I do that?

For those of you who aren't religious bear with me. Something you can chose to do is turn to God.

At the moment, what I try to do is turn each "ugly" day into a school day. What I mean is, I try and figure what that current situation is trying to teach or show me. I try to remember to turn to God for help all the time when I feel like I am struggling and not so much to Haagen Dazs' Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream. I have to say the waistline is looking alright these days ;) lol

Obviously, it will seem hard at the time to believe that everything will work out for the best. Sometimes it takes years for you to see the fruits of your labour. Yes, in that case it will suck for a wile but I am sure, along the way, you will be able to see yourself grow and become a person that handle almost anything thrown your way. In every situation that you find yourself, just know that you have the ability to handle it.

And you do not need to go through it alone. Turning God may sometimes feel like you are talking to air as you cannot see Him but you have your family and friends...and lil old me if you like, to help you out because God can use anyone and anything to carry out His will. One of my bestest buddies ever, Luigi, is a constant reminder of just how strong, resilient and faithful someone can be in times that are not so rosy. She is an awesome bubble of life and I am so thankful that she's one my greatest chums :D She is definitely a person I turn to when things go south.

Check this video out to have a little idea of how someone can have a string of ugly moments and conquer them:

Till next time!
