Date Night
Due to the general business of life it can sometimes be quite hard to find time to just relax and meet up with friends. I am sure most of you can relate. I had to book a slot with a friend of mine a two weeks in advance just so that we could both have enough time to clear our "schedules" and pencil in a catch-up session.
I am pleased to announce that there were no cancellations and we ended up having our little "date" yesterday! Although it was the same dinner and a movie, we decided to live life on the edge and have dinner at a restaurant that was not Nandos. Shocking, I know.
So, the restaurant of choice was:
This was the first Japanese restaurant I had ever been too and I loved it. The service was great and the staff were really funny. Each table could sit about 20 people which meant that if you would be sitting with complete strangers if your party was less than 20. I thought that this was a fab idea. "Date" night was off to a good start.
Now, I know this may not seem like a worthy thing to mention but the fruit juices that they serve are yummy and taste fresh. It was a nice way to prep my palate for the goodness to come.
In order to enjoy the best of all possible worlds we decided to have spare ribs and chicken rolls for our starter and king prawn yakisoba noodles for our main meal. It was a great choice.
The exciting thing about this restaurant is that you get to see your food cooked right in front of you.
The dish seemed to lack something which couldn't put our finger on. But, there was a sauce that they gave us, whose name I have forgotten, that made the meal delicious! Needless to say, we cleared our plates. It was oddly very filling. When we saw it initially, we thought it looked a bit small but we were wrong. It was just right.
And to end the lovely meal they put on a show which made us all laugh and gasp.
As a parting gift, I took the chopsticks we were given to practise eating with them at home. I don't know if I can really call that a gift though. The waiter did offer to give me more if I wanted but sadly my purse was too small :(.
But, one day, I shall be able to eat using chopsticks alone.
All in all, I had a great time. The movie we went to go and see was Iron Man 3. I think that movie deserves its own post don't you?
Till next time!
Luv, Mo xx
