MOVIE MONDAYS: THE NOTEBOOK
Please, do not be alarmed folks! I have seen this movie a bunch of times. The reason why I am blogging about it today is because it only really just clicked that Ryan Gosling starred in this movie. I decided to watch it again because life was getting a bit too stifling and I needed to get away to a nice safe place. So, I went on IMDb and searched for a Ryan's profile and discovered: The Notebook
Watching this movie again made me appreciate the whole film a lot more. I missed out on a lot of the finer details and only just realised why the movie/book was called The Notebook lol. I have no idea how I missed that to be honest. I must've been severely distracted by something. For those of you who do not know, this movie is based on the book The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. If you have not heard of this man...well, I have no idea what to say really. I am sure you all have...and if you haven't, he is an author whose novels are mostly about romance with a dash of tragedy. A couple of years ago, I came across a website that tells you how to write a Nicholas Sparks movie. It still cracks me up.
The movie was made back in 2004 and stars a bunch of great actors and actresses. It will come as no great surprise that the two characters that I love most are young Allie and Noah. Allie is a spirited, passionate and highly intelligent girl who has a big heart. She was played by the amazing Rachel McAdams (Mean Girls; Morning Glory; Midnight in Paris; The Vow). Noah, on the other hand is a loyal, hopeless-romantic and when he sets his mind on something, he will see it through. He was played brilliantly by Ryan Gosling (Drive; Gangster Squad; Blue Valentine; Crazy Stupid Love).
The chemistry is undeniable and just as fiery as it was back in 2004. I love this movie. It is not my favourite love story of all time but it is one of my favourites. It is movies like this that reboots the hopeless-romantic in you and makes you want to dance on clouds and perfect your "Kiss Me in the Rain" look. I do not know about you but I have definitely not got that look down haha.
If you haven't seen this movie yet, you really should...I think anyway :)
Till next time!
Luv, Mo
