MOVIE MONDAYS: INTO THE BLUE

In memory of Paul Walker, I decided to watch the first movie I ever saw him in and dedicate this week's Movie Mondays post to him.

For those of you who do not know, it was reported last Saturday that Paul Walker was involved in a car crash alongside his friend on his way to a Reach Out worldwide charity event  that lead to their death. I can say that although I did not know him personally, the news still hit me pretty hard. I am sure I am not alone.

Onto the movie...

Into the Blue is one of my all-time favourite movies starring Paul Walker (The Fast and the Furious; Eight Below; Takers) and Jessica Alba (Dark Angel; Honey; The Eye). I remember that it was because of Jessica Alba that I found out about this movie in the first place as I was attempting to watch all the stuff she had been in as Dark Angel was my favourite show back then. Into the Blue has a healthy balance between love, action and tragedy and entices you with white sandy beaches disappearing into clear blue waters.

This 2005 film is about a diver called Jared, played by Paul Walker, whose heart lies with the beauty that the ocean beholds and his kind, gentle, caring and beautiful girlfriend, Sam, played by Jessica Alba. And when a cargo of illegal goods finds its way into their lives, trouble undoubtedly ensues. The film was directed by John Stockwell (Blue CrushDark TideThe L Word), who seems to love projects that involve large bodies of water, and it was written by Matt Johnson (TorqueInto the Blue).

I am pretty sure I have not given too much away to those of you who may not have seen it so don't worry. I just hope I haven't put you off it. Although, I do not see how I can as it has PW and JA in it lol. My favourite role that Paul Walker played has got to be Brian O'Connor. No doubt about it. I would have posted about the F&F series but I think it would end up becoming a book haha. To give you an idea of my love for it you can read the post I did on the last F&F movie. It was sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family as I know he is and will always be greatly missed.

If one day the speed kills me, do not cry because I was smiling

Till next time!
