ON THE EDGE: FILM || Vol. 01

This month is filled with a lot of new film releases but sadly, the slow and steady rise of the prices of cinema tickets and the need to put some money aside for Christmas presents means that the dream to see 'em all is not one that will be fulfilled this month... for me at least. However, I thought I'd still share with you all the new film that have got me on the edge of my bed, itching to watch them. I wonder which ones I will end up seeing this year...

THE IMITATION GAME

Who is as eager as I am to see Keira Knightly and Benedict Cumberbatch's new film that is out in cinemas this Friday (14th Nov)? Giving us an insight into the life of the founder of Computer Science and all-round genius, Alan Turing (a name that is not unfamiliar in Manchester), The Imitation Game is a movie I am sure I will enjoy as it holds the promise of showing us the power and usefulness of mathematics as well us allowing us to know more about the British mathematician and his team. INTERSTELLAR

Now your guess is probably better than mine about this film as all I know is it was released last Friday (7th Nov), Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey are in it andChristopher Nolan  directed it. From the title and poster, I don't think it is crazy for me to assume that this is going to have a space element to it which reminds me of Gravity, which I saw this time last year, ergo - I think it is worth a watch. THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PT. 1

Ah is it in the cards for me to see this the day it is released? Only time will tell. This film carries on the story of the strong, compassionate and resilient Katniss of District 12 where The Hunger Games: Catching Fire left off. If you aren't on the The Hunger Games train yet have no fear! This instalment is to be released next Friday (21st Nov) so you have plenty of time to watch the first two films. As I have not read the book this is all I am prepared to say about this film. To be fair even if I had read the book I doubt I would have told you much else. To view trailer, click here.

NO GOOD DEED

Ok, as much as I do not like thrillers I do make a few exceptions every now and then. I think this is definitely going to be one of those times. A film with both Taraji P. Henson and Idirs Elba? Need I say more? The release date is rumoured to be next Friday (21st Nov) as well. To view trailer, click here.

HORRIBLE BOSSES 2

It has been a while since I have seen a film whose main purpose is to place my vocal cords under maintenance and give their laughing capabilities a good test run. I cannot remember everything about Horrible Bosses but I can recall enough to know that there were scenes that caused me to burst out laughing several times, cover my face because I could not handle what was happening and drop my jaw to the floor - well, as far as my jaw drop - due to shock. I have a feeling this one will probably have the same effect on me so onto my watch-list it goes. It is said to be released in 2 weeks on Friday (28th Nov). To view trailer, click here.

So there you have it! In the last instalment of this series, we had a look at theatre but this time around I thought I'd share the films that have my heart a flutter. Tell me, which film are you most eager to see this month?
