MOVIE MONDAYS: SUPERNATURAL PARODY

Those that know me well know that I am a massive Supernatural fan. I have not written about the this on WML yet because I feel in order to do the show justice I'd have to have a post dedicated to each season - but really I'd want to write one for each episode - and main character and I have a sneaky suspicion they'll all be intensely long. But who knows, maybe one day I will sit down, re-watch the show (for the umpteenth time) and come up with a swish way to share with you all my thoughts on Supernatural. That day is sadly not today, however, I would like talk about something Supernatural related - a short film The Hillywood Show® released a couple months ago called Supernatural Paroday.

Now, I have expressed some of my admiration of the Hindi sisters before so I will try to keep this brief, although I am not sure I have ever been described as one who understands the meaning of brevity. Anyway, this particular project that Hannah & Hilly made was the first one of theirs I had ever watched and I immediately fell in love with it & their channel. It is remarkable! I do not normally watch parodies but I am so glad I gave this one a go because I would have missed out on some filmmaking goodness.

Supernatural Parody, as the name might suggest, is a hilarious and highly entertaining 7 minute parody of the very successful CW show, Supernatural. It pays homage to Supernatural's 10th season using Taylor Swift's catchy song 'Shake It Off', with some revised lyrics to go along with it, and a much appreciated surprise towards the end. The quality of the production is to be applauded and praised as the cast & crew did a fabulous job. Hannah Hindi found herself back in the director's seat helping to bring to screen the idea that Hilly came up with. It was so interesting to get a peek of what went on behind the scenes; I felt I learnt quite a bit myself. At the very least, it allows you to have a deeper appreciation of the hard work that went into making this film project.

Like I have said before, their attention to detail is uncanny. At one point I thought they used the actual Supernatural set for some of the scenes and then when I saw the Impala I freaked out way more than I should have haha. They even drew on some of the scenes in the music video for Taylor Swift's 'Shake it Off' which was really cool to spot. And it wasn't just the set or props that impressed me, the cast and the costumes of the characters they were playing were indeed a sight to behold. Even now that I have caught up on almost all The Hillywood Show® videos, it never ceases to amaze me when I see Hilly and Hannah with wigs on. How they, Hilly especially, manage to get all of their hair under their wigs (which are so expertly made) will forever remain a mystery to me and I am ok with that. For this short film, Hannah Hindi starred as Cas whilst Hilly Hindiplayed Dean. Osric Chau (Supernatural2012The Man with the Iron Fists) a.k.a Kevin Tran - yes, he is in this paradoy!! - took on the role of Sam and did a fantastic job (haha!) as did Rob Benedict (SupernaturalSusannaState of  Play) a.k.a. Chuck as Cain. I could not stop giggling! That wind in hair moment... absolute class! And Elliot Crossley who voiced Crowley was eerily good. I am sure Mark Sheppard would be proud.  Aw guys, trust me you really need to watch this parody! Especially if you are a SPN fan... even if you are only a baby fan.

So, in summary: watch the videos above and then go familiarise yourself with The Hillywood Show® YT channel. Maybe they've done a wicked cool parody of one of your favourite TV shows or films.
