STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS: BEST WAY TO END AN EVENTFUL DAY

I want to first of all apologise for my disappearing act. I had to have my game face on for the past couple of weeks to finish off three elements of my dissertation- the short report, the main report and the poster. I handed in the last piece today and I am beyond happy!!

Mostly because I stuffed my face in chinese food and watched the best movie I have seen this year in a cinema.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Now, bear in mind that I have never watched a full episode of any of the Star Trek TV series nor have I seen the first movie that came out back in 2009. However, I did not allow these facts to stop me from ending this momentous day on a high.

And boy have I ended this day on a high! I personally think this movie is amazeballs. Yes, yes, I am perfectly aware of the fact that I just used that "word" to describe the movie lol. I think it is that good. I was confused at first but quickly found my feet. Then the laughter came and was quickly followed by fear and awe. I was so engrossed in the movie I did not want it to end.

Sci-fi is definitely not my go-to-genre for movies but, this film is an exception. The special effects weren't overwhelming. The acting was brilliant. Whether the movie stayed true to the original story (or if there is one), I cannot say. All I know is as far as movies go, this one is awesome. I wouldn't dare watch it in 3D though. I am too jumpy for that lol.

Spock is definitely one of my favourite characters. His lines were perfection and Zachary Quinto delivered them so well. I almost forgave him for his role as Sylar in Heroes. Almost. Chris Pine took on the role of Captain Kirk. He was....well, he was Chris Pine hehe. His eyes are so captivating. Obviously, not the point that I wasn't able to focus on other aspects of the movie. I am perfectly capable of multi-tasking thank you very much ;).  Benedict Cumberbatch played the character Khan; a complex fella who had me guessing throughout. Loved it! Zoe Saldana was as beautiful and talented as ever and was one of the main reasons why I wanted to watch the film in the first place.

Now, I am off to get my hands on the first Star Trek movie. Hope you have all had a brilliant couple of weeks. I shall be back on this space in full swing soooooon. Have a few posts that are in the works. I have one exam to revise for and then....

I am free!

Well, up until reality hits me and I begin to have a start-of-life crisis and worry about what my future holds. But I shall save those thoughts for another day.

Till next time!

Luv, Mo
