NEW EYES SAME FACE
Anyone who wears glasses knows how much of a chore it can be to get a new set of frames. Especially if you a relatively "large" head which yours truly has in spades. And for those of you that are not tech savvy, like me, and can't be bothered to take a picture of yourself to actually see what you look like when you try on the plethora of frames for size, know that you have to book either a family member or friend to truthfully tell you if the wacky red cat-eyed frames that caught your eye makes you like 5 kinds of weird.

A few weeks ago I plucked up the courage to enter my local Specsavers armed with my wonderful gal pal, Mercy, to get myself a new set of "eyes". It was so stressful. Mercy, my big head and I traipsed round the store looking for the right pair of frames for almost an hour if not more. I originally wanted to opt for the 2 for 1 offer they run as that is what I normally do but that dream got crushed when I was told the frames that I reeeeeeeeally wanted was too big for my head. It was the first time I was annoyed that my head what not big enough. We went round the store again in search of another frame to replace my now lost frame-mate but it became clear to Mercy, myself and the lovely sales assistant that was attending to me that no other frame they had currently in stock could replace my 'This is it!' frames. So, I decided to just get the lovely classic black frames that I chose to be my everyday pair so that my pink ones can finally retire after 4 years of service and come out to play on fancier occasions. This led to me chose the other offer they had i.e. whack on a bunch of reactions on my lenses to stop me from being be dazzled. Yes, you guessed it. I'm that girl that walks down the street with lenses that react to UV rays and allows me to keep on walking instead of having the all too familiar 'deer caught in headlights' moment that I always get when the sunlight hits my eyes - it ain't pretty folks. Ah well, I have grown to love them and have been treating them with the utmost care as we all do with brand new things. I hope I do keep this up ;)
What is the longest time you've spent looking for a new pair of glasses?
