ON THE EDGE: FILM || VOL. 3

And it is that time of the month where I bring you a selection of films soon to be released in cinemas that I would not mind going to see. February has not done too badly at all and I look forward to trying to seeing as many as I can. There a couple "serious" dramas, romantic comedies and an action/fantasy film thrown in for good measure so hopefully you will a film that will tickle your fancy.

CAKE

Anna Kendrick  and Jennifer Aniston are two actresses whom I love and I cannot wait to see this. Judging purely from the poster alone and snippets of interviews with Jennifer Aniston regarding the film as I have not seen the trailer, Cake seems to be very different from the kind of films I have seen Jennifer Aniston in so I am looking forward to watching her performance in this. And as for Anna Kendrick, she can do no wrong in my eyes. I shall let you know my thoughts on it when I see it. Cake is set to be released on the 20th of Feb in the UK so, check out its trailer and decide if it will be on your watch list this month.

LOVE IS STRANGE

No one can tell me that after seeing this film they were not wowed or filled with hope and all that good stuff. I have not seen this film myself but I have watched the trailer -shock horror! - and that is exactly how I felt after I saw the less than 3 min clip. Starring Alfred MolinaJohn Lithgow, and Marisa Tomei this movie is bound to be a good one. If you are looking for a film to see at the cinema for Valentine's maybe, then this one might be a fitting one as it will be out on the 13th of Feb.

JUPITER ASCENDING

Eddie Redmayne ... a villain? I think I have to see this film just to confirm this speculation as I am struggling to imagine it haha. As you can see, Jupiter Ascending  also stars Mila Kunis, a woman who I may have a bit of a girl crush on, and Channing Tatum. So, despite the slightly negative things I have been hearing about this film, I am still intrigued by this movie and want to see it. I mean come on! Eddie Redmayne... as a villain? Doesn't that spark some curiosity in your mind?Jupiter Ascending was released last week and if you are thinking of seeing it, maybe watching trailer will help.

SELMA

There have been quite a few biopics released in the past few months but I do not think this is one to let slip through the cracks. Selma, directed by Ava DuVernay, is based on Martin Luther King's inspirational work to ensure equality in his country and stars Cuba Gooding Jr., David Oyelowo and Oprah Winfrey. Now David Oyelowo is an actor whose work has not disappointed me yet and I don't think it is about to start now. If you have seen this already (as it was released on the 6th of Feb) let me know your thoughts on it. And for those of you who, like me, have not seen it yet, check out the trailer here.

TWO NIGHT STAND

After watching Miles Teller in Whiplash my need to see any and all projects with him in it reached an all time high. And although I do not know Analeigh Tipton's work well, I have seen her a few films and I am very intrigued to see her performance in this movie as well. From the poster this film is telepathically telling me it is a romantic comedy that has the potential to win me over just like The First Time - a film that will never leave my 'Favourite Films of All Time' list.  Two Night Stand  will be in cinemas on the 13th of Feb and you can check out the film's trailer here

THE WEDDING RINGER

Ever since I saw Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting's first post about this film on her IG account I have been itching to watch it. Kevin Hart is a person who knows how to make people laugh even if it means taking the piss out of himself; a film with him in it is sure to make me giggle at some point. And I just love Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting- 8 Simple Rules was my favourite show for a loong time. Plus, Jerry from Hawaii 5-0 (aka Jorge Garcia) is in it and yet another reason for me to see this movie. I have a strong feeling that The Wedding Ringer will end up in my 'Feel Good' film category and I will let you know if this is the case when I eventually watch it. Click here to see the trailer of The Wedding Ringer which will be in cinemas on the 20th of Feb.
