MOVIE MONDAYS: BAGGAGE CLAIM

As far as birthday movies go, this was just what the doctor ordered.

Being in your 20's can be a very nerve-wracking thing and watching this movie allowed me to escape my "Start Of Life Crisis" as I like to call it. It is a light-hearted romantic comedy filled with funny characters, a lot of eye candy and enough soppy/cheesy scenes to make the true hopeless romantic in me to resurface and banish all the self-loathing that was plaguing my mind earlier that week.

I hope I do not give too much away as I try to give you a little insight on some of the characters from this film that have a hold on me.

The casting director person/team was spot on! Paula Patton (Jumping The BroomJust WrightMission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) was the lovely lady that brought the main character, Montana a.k.a Mo, to life. As I am also called Mo feel free to assume that I pretended the entire movie was based on me lol. She is an ordinary woman who is trying to find herself and figure out what love is with the support of those around her.  Adam Brody's (The O.C.In The Land of WomenJennifer's Body) character, Sam, who is one of Montana's best friends, is definitely one of my favourite in the movie as he is a very sweet, funny and stylish young lad. Montana's other best friend Gail, who was played by Jill Scott (Why Did I Get Married?), is a woman who knows what she wants, when she wants and does not waste anytime getting it. She comes across as one with a one-track mind most of the time making me see Jill in a whole new light haha. I love that she acting more and more now. But the character that really made himself feel at home in my heart was William. Played by Derek Luke (SparkleSupremacyCatch A Fire), William is the kind of neighbour I would really not mind having. The phrase I would use to describe him is 'down to earth'. Not a bad character trait to have at all.

Movie Info:Baggage Claim was directed by David E. Talbert (First Sunday) who also wrote the film's screenplay.

Anyways, do not write this movie off because of the ratings IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes gave it. If you are in the mood for a feel-good rom com then this one fits the bill. Trust me, the lines some of the characters have will tickle you silly!

Till next time!

Luv, Mo

xx

P.S. I know! I am as shocked as you are that I did not mention Boris Kodjoe or Taye Diggs or Djimon Hounsou or Trey Songz at all in the entire post. Oh wait a minute...would you look at that, I just did ;-)
