Behind-the-Scenes

Lips on Fire!

I know that I am so late in the game that I might as well should not have bothered getting it but I just purchased on of the most talked about lip balms- Carmex.
Now, you can call me stingy or Ijebu if you like but I the only reason why I never bought Carmex was because of the price. Why would I buy a lip balm that costs more than £2 when there is the trusted Vaseline lip balms for 99 p? But now that has all changed. Most lip balms are even rivaling the cost of body lotions

*shaking my head*.

Anyways, back to Carmex!

I had heard of its amazing capability to heal chapped lips as well as keep your lips all nice and soft. And as I've now lost all my Vaseline pots again I decided to try something new. I got a pot of the classic Carmex lip balm and let me just tell you now-

It's like a RUBB lip balm!
All you African children out there should know what Rubb is. That evil balm that was used to "treat" all  your wounds and chesty coughs smh. And if you made the mistake of putting it in your eye? Kai! You are finished! That was the same sensation I got when I applied my newly acquired lip balm on my lips this morning.

They were on fire!

And they weren't even chapped thank goodness lol I don't even want to imagine what that would have felt like. But apart from that initial shock, Carmex is a miracle worker. No amount of cold can ever un-soften these lips. The tingling sensation made me giggle slightly but it does do what is says on the pot-

moisturising lip balm; long lasting relief for dry, chapped lips

If you are like me and hadn't tried Carmex I can tell you now that there is no harm in trying it. Next time, I might try the cherry one hehe.

Till next time!
