Behind-the-Scenes

Winter Hair: The Joys of the Homemade Moisturising Spritz

The spritz has done it again! It seems to be the only thing that can tame my hair this season. It does not feel dry/brittle/lifeless at all...I hope it lasts hehe. The ingredients I used as almost the same for my last batch:

Rose water
Aloe Vera Juice
Vegetable Glycerin
Jamaican Black Castor Oil
Grapeseed Oil
Sunflower Oil
Rosemary Oil
Tea Tree Oil

Now, I know it seems like the spritz is made up of mostly oils but trust me, I did not put that much in there. I never measure things so I can't tell you exactly how much I used but the bulk of the spritz was the 1st three items and the products I used the least were the essential oils (products 7 & 8- about 4-5 drops each).

I then proceeded to seal my moisturised hair with Coconut oil. Now, what possessed me to think that my hair didn't like Coconut oil I will never know. But for now, my hair is singing like a baby :) I honestly hope this lasts. As, I have not relaxed my hair still, and don't plan to until sometime in February, I needed to find a way to tame the frizz and dryness and the spritz has definitely solved that issue. I've used it for the past 3-4 days and I really can say it works.

I started off day 1 with just using Coconut oil as a moisturiser as well as a sealant and I could already feel my hair reacting to it- softening up, feeling and looking refreshed. The next day, I made my spritz and used taht to moisturise and then used coconut oil to seal. My hair sang like a pretty bird hehe. My hair did not break off as much either when I detangled it which was a plus. I feel really happy with the fact that I am using more "natural" products on my hair. It should be noted that I don't saturate my hair with products as that weighs my hair down and totally upsets my hair's moisture/protein balance.

So, in conclusion, this is my fix for my winter hair blues... for now :)

Till next time!

Luv, Mo xx
